Happy birthday to us!
In April of 1994, MedCo opened its doors with the mission of providing exclusively medical collections services to the medical community. The concept was simple: pursuing slow payers of medical debts needed to be handled differently than collections on cable bills or credit cards and from day one we chose to do that with respect.
Over the last 23 years MedCo has grown from two people to over 125 associates. We have expanded through 5 different locations, settling in our current 17,000-square foot call facility in Research Park. MedCo evolved from a single line of service to 5 different revenue cycle management products. We have experienced many changes in healthcare, our industry, and internally. Medco has been presented with challenges such as doing MORE with LESS. We had to adapt new strategies in order to perform at equivalent or higher levels after certain legislation has made our job more difficult. We strive to be ahead of the technological curve to meet the demands of the consumer. This allows us to communicate electronically.
We are a people business. MedCo truly believes we are only as good as our people. Therefore, we must hire smart, scrutinize every detail, and then reward our people in order to maintain a common goal. Our mission statement of “Developing Trust and Loyalty by enhancing the lives of others” is practiced every day. The “others” in this sentence is referring to our people. We promote, educate, and share our growth, to build a common Trust and Loyalty with each other that helps our team excel.
It is obvious that as generations change, some cultures and values change as well. However, one thing that never changes is that people want to learn, grow, be a part of a greater plan, and be valued. We attribute our 23 years of success to not deviating from this belief and look forward to the many years to come.
